History

Our Beginning

Upstate Carolina Lacrosse was founded in the summer of 2020 by Program Director Sean Buff. With only 76 athletes, four teams entered and played in three tournaments that summer. The program comprised of mostly athletes from Spartanburg County schools. The program has pride itself on player development and growth. Well as the sport of lacrosse has grown so has Upstate Carolina Lacrosse. Over the next 3 and half years Upstate Carolina saw its 4 teams repsented by 76 athletes soon grew to over 100 athletes and 6 teams.

Two Becomes One

In the Summer 2023, Assistant Director Coleman Plaisted organized a high school level team called The SC Invaders comprised of high schoolers in Greenville, SC. With Coach Plaisted and Coach Buff having similar beliefs and goals to grow an outstanding program to build the game of the lacrosse and the athletes in the Upstate. In August of 2023, the two directors decided to merge the two programs into one calling it Upstate Carolina Invaders Lacrosse. Today, the program has seen over 180 players competing on eight teams in tournaments across the Southeast.
